Three awards. One extraordinary collaboration.
This week, the Rothera Modernisation Project for the British Antarctic Survey won three awards at the 2026 British Construction and Infrastructure Awards, including Project Team Excellence, International Project, and Social Infrastructure Project.
Located on Adelaide Island, Antarctica, the project is helping to ensure Britain remains at the forefront of climate, biodiversity, and ocean research in the polar regions. We provided concept design and technical advisory services for the Discovery Building, a new energy-efficient research facility supporting the station’s modernization.
Judges praised the team’s passion, commitment to a unifying purpose, and focus on creating a lasting legacy through a transformative infrastructure project at the bottom of the world.
Having worked on the BAS Framework for more than 10 years, these awards are fantastic recognition of the commitment and collaboration behind this project.
Congratulations to British Antarctic Survey and to everyone involved.
