The future of design is stronger when more voices have a seat at the table.
For the past five years, I have volunteered with NOMA Detroit’s Project Pipeline, a week-long camp that introduces students from underrepresented communities to careers in architecture and design. As Camp Director, I am hands on in developing and delivering the program, where students are immersed in the design process through real-world projects, site visits, and mentorship from industry professionals.
Project Pipeline is special to me because I get to teach, help students grow, and show them opportunities they may not have known existed. Organizations like NOMA opened those doors for me, and now I have the opportunity to do the same for others.
