AXA XL Insurance, a global insurance and reinsurance company, envisioned transforming an existing 65,000-square-foot office into a hybrid workplace environment in Exton, PA.

Challenge
To modernize the look and feel, the project required rethinking the existing office layout to support a hybrid model while maintaining efficiency and functionality. It also needed to balance reduced space with a diverse mix of seating, meeting, and collaboration areas that align with evolving workplace expectations.
Solution
Our design team collaborated with the Hankin Group and AXA XL to incorporate the desired functionality, seating counts, space types, and adjacencies. Much of the existing construction was retained and adapted into non-dedicated desking, flexible meeting rooms, collaboration spaces, conference rooms, and training areas. A budget-conscious approach repurposed existing rooms, introducing glass fronts, upgraded lighting, and ceiling treatments to enhance acoustics and visual interest.
Outcome
With a design approach founded on analysis, critical thinking, and creativity, the resulting workplace provides a flexible, connected environment that supports both in-person and remote collaboration. It reflects a thoughtful, efficient transformation that aligns with AXA XL’s evolving workplace strategy.
