RH Montreal, The Gallery at Royalmount, is RH’s first location in Quebec and second Design Gallery in Canada, bringing the brand’s immersive retail, design, and hospitality concept to the Royalmount mixed-use development in Montreal, QC.
Challenge
As RH expanded into Quebec, the project required a destination that could integrate retail, hospitality, and professional design services within a single immersive environment. The design also needed to establish a strong architectural presence within one of Canada’s most ambitious luxury retail developments.
Solution
We collaborated with RH to create a transparent multi-level structure featuring an artisanal brick façade, landscaped courtyards, and a grand double floating staircase. The Gallery combines artistic installations of RH Collections, the RH Interior Design Atelier, and a rooftop hospitality experience featuring a skylit restaurant, outdoor lounge spaces, and a European-inspired landscaped Rooftop Park.
Outcome
RH Montreal establishes a curated destination that blurs the lines between residential and retail, indoors and outdoors, home and hospitality. As a cornerstone of Royalmount, the Gallery contributes to the next chapter of sustainable luxury in Montreal while advancing RH’s evolving Design Gallery concept in Canada.

RH Montreal, The Gallery at Royalmount is RH’s first location in Quebec and its second Design Gallery in Canada. RH anchors Royalmount, a landmark mixed-use development set to become Canada’s largest 100% carbon-neutral district and home to the highest concentration of international luxury stores in the province. As Design Architect, NORR collaborated closely with RH and the project team to bring this vision to life.
Conceptualized as a transparent, multi-level structure, the Gallery features an artisanal brick facade in a custom parchment-cream palette, a contemporary new concept for the brand. Crafted of hand-selected Italian bricks and finished with classic corbelling, the exterior is complemented by an expanse of glass-and-bronze doors that lead to lush garden courtyards and terraces surrounded by a progression of littleleaf boxwoods. As night falls, the Gallery is transformed through dramatic illumination, highlighting its architectural details and landscaping.
Ascending the grand double floating staircase to the third level, guests will arrive at the Rooftop Restaurant where they will encounter a striking open focal kitchen clad in natural Taj Mahal stone, flanked by a pair of cascading water walls. Set within a year-round, skylit garden escape, the restaurant offers a thoughtfully curated menu of enduring classics and fresh seafood dishes, all beneath a dramatic atrium with sparkling chandeliers, heritage olive trees and a cascading center fountain.
Seamlessly extending from indoors to out, the restaurant opens onto a beautifully landscaped Rooftop Park. Influenced by the great classical gardens of Europe, this immersive destination encompasses a series of intimate RH Outdoor lounge spaces defined by a layered composition of London plane trees, shade canopies, sculptural evergreens and French limestone fire tables.
Occupying the second level, the RH Interior Design Atelier offers clients an unprecedented level of professional design services, including private client presentation rooms with state-of-the-art technology, design libraries showcasing a wide assortment of textiles, furniture and lighting finishes and an RH Rugs showroom presenting an exclusive collection.
Commanding the center of the ground level will be the Great Room with its soaring floor-to-ceiling columns. Along the periphery, barrel-vaulted passageways lead to a classical arrangement of rooms presenting artistic installations of RH Collections by internationally acclaimed designers that integrate the brand’s furnishings, lighting and décor.
